Impossible Aerospace
I joined the founding team of Impossible Aerospace because I wanted to work on a hard problem that would help humanity. Looking around, it didn’t seem like anyone in the airplane industry had a credible plan for how to quickly create aircraft that would solve the looming emissions problem from aircraft.
In the beginning, there was only three of us with little more than an idea. I did many kinds of work including printed circuit board design, manufacturing, people leadership, business development, test engineering, and fighting literal fires as shown below.
The pictures below provide some insight into my time there.
Leadership Contributions
I hired and led the entire engineering team. Started from three founders and grew to over 15 engineers and over 30 employees.
Technical Contributions (US-1 UAV)
Served as the Electrical and Software Technical Architect
Designed the version 1 and version 2 printed circuit board assemblies for the US-1 Battery Management System and Flight Control System
Designed a Brushless DC Motor Controller that implemented Field Oriented Control
